Welcome to Cookham Running Club
We are a friendly group of runners based in the
beautiful Thames-side village of Cookham, Berkshire with men and women members
ranging from beginners to more speedy racing types.
Established in 2010, we are affiliated to England Athletics but our ethos
remains strongly rooted in the more sociable aspects of the sport: we run, we
explore new routes, we are committed to improving, but we also like to chat,
over coffee and cakes (or something stronger) when we can. The Junior
section of the club was introduced in 2013 for younger runners.
When and where do we meet?
Our sessions depend on the time of year.

Come and join usWe meet for track or hill sessions during the week and for longer runs on Saturday mornings when we have groups of walkers through to those covering 10 miles or more. Nobody is too slow; nobody gets left behind. Why not come and join us?
If you have never run before or want to get back into running, the club holds 6 week "Couch to 5km" running courses led by Paddy McGrath, a UK Athletics qualified coach, with the aim of getting you to be able to run 5k at the end of the course. For more information, dates and details of the courses contact Peta Bee or Paddy McGrath. Join the JuniorsOur junior athletes are highly competitive at
road, track and cross country, entering teams in the Metropolitan Cross
Country League, the NW London Young Athletes League as well as regional and
county championships. In 2015/2016 they were U11 and U15 champions in the NW
London Young Athletes League and won medals in 6 age groups. They also won
medals at U13 level in the Chiltern Cross Country League.
Above all else, we make sure the emphasis for juniors is on fun and we aim to foster a great team spirit. If you are age 9 or above, why not come and train with us? Contact Peta Bee for more information. |
